TESC The Electrical Safety Council
Contractor Registration
Register Registration for contractors participating in electrical safety certificate filing and compliance record keeping.

Register as a TESC contractor

Contractor registration allows EICRs and related electrical safety records to be filed into the TESC Certificate Register for verification, tracking and compliance record keeping.

Purpose of registration Registration creates a formal route for contractors to submit certificates, record inspection outcomes and participate in structured remedial follow-up.

What registration provides

Registration is designed to support clearer administration after an electrical safety inspection has been completed. It helps ensure that certificates, unsatisfactory outcomes and remedial requirements are not left unmanaged after issue.

Certificate filing

EICRs can be logged into the TESC Certificate Register with a unique reference record.

Verification records

Filed certificates can be checked through the register by agents, landlords and duty holders.

Remedial tracking

Unsatisfactory outcomes can be recorded, monitored and progressed toward completion.

Renewal records

Filed inspections can support future renewal reminders and compliance history.

Remedial tracking

Where an EICR is recorded as unsatisfactory, the remedial requirement remains attached to the certificate record. This creates a clear administrative trail from inspection to resolution.

For contractors, this means unsatisfactory reports are less likely to disappear into an email inbox without action. The record remains open until remedial completion or further evidence is recorded.

  1. Inspection record filed
The EICR is entered into the TESC Certificate Register.
  2. Outcome recorded
The certificate is marked as satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
  3. Remedial requirement tracked
Unsatisfactory reports remain open for follow-up.
  4. Duty holder notified
Agents, landlords or responsible persons can be directed to the compliance record.
  5. Record closed
The case can be updated when remedial completion or a satisfactory follow-up report is provided.

Why this matters

Electrical safety inspections often identify work that must be completed before a property can be treated as compliant. Without a structured record, those requirements can be delayed, missed or dealt with informally.

TESC registration supports a clearer process: the certificate is filed, the outcome is visible, the remedial requirement is tracked and the completion route is recorded.

  • Clearer post-inspection administration.
  • Better visibility for letting agents and duty holders.
  • Reduced risk of unsatisfactory reports being left unresolved.
  • More structured remedial progression for contractors.
  • Improved renewal and compliance history over time.
Important: TESC records certificate information and compliance progression. The contractor remains responsible for the accuracy of inspection, testing, coding, reporting and any remedial works undertaken.
